When I got our Joebike BoxBike, I intentionally got the upgraded version that has the Avid BB7 disc brake up front an a Shimano Alfine dynohub as well.  Our neighborhood is pretty hilly and I wanted the added security of the disc brake.  The dynohub was really just a nice bonus.  How nice?

It's circa 99 or 2000, Reynolds 853 tubing with an aftermarket Ritchey carbon fork and a carbon seatpost.  For being 10+ years old, it is a beaut.  I'm really, really happy with the condition of the frame. Just got back from a couple of trips and getting back in the groove.  Missed about 10 days of riding while traveling, so Wednesday's commute was really nice. First, let me say that only 1 Raleigh dealer in the front range area even had one in stock.  Evidently Raleigh is about to release the '09 lines and isn't stocking any new bikes. It really was no big deal.  I added a layer, a pair of flannel-lined khaki's that I have had forever, and they are amazing. It went great, a little cool in the morning, beautiful this afternoon.  My garment bag pannier works great and kept my clothes looking nice.I absolutely love my new bar tape - natural cork. Check her out - She's pretty sweet, for $100!  Check out the nice work -I'm not sure how I feel about the knobby tires, not sure I can get fenders around them.
